Promotional Posters
Aside from custom book printing, we worked with PARTICIPANT INC to make beautiful and sturdy promotional posters for Damien Echols. We design and print invites of all kinds. Today we look at Kathe Burkhart’s books and the box set we help print.

Kathe Burkhart’s 2013 book, Dudes, journies unsentimentally as the author travels thru the subcultures of New York City and Amsterdam. The American Rust Belt (specifically West Virginia) is the starting point. Fifteen autobiographical stories and accompanying illustrations not only bowl us over but Dudes is also packed with narratives of dominant women and dirty old men. Broken up into three parts; Mountain Men, Sensitive Artists, and Perverts, Dudes is a wild and nastily fun read. Dudes is the companion book to Burkhart’s earlier work, The Double Standard.
Together, these two books comprise the box set that Publicide Inc. created the packaging for. A matte black box with the artist’s name debossed in bold font across the front. Catches the eye and sucks the light from the room. Impossible not to reach for, this luxurious yet simple statement box set is a must-have. Especially for anyone interested in New York-based art and New York-based artists. Burkhart’s tell-all autobiography is must read and helps inform the reader to better understand her paintings, drawings, and videos. All of the work is viewed as smaller fragmented parts of the prolific whole of Kathe Burkhart’s life work so far.
