While Jenny Yoo’s 2019 spring collection of bridal dresses will radiate soft glamour in luxury fabrics that are impeccably tailored, dramatically sculpted, clean and flirty. Hang tags intend to be a kind of robust summary of a fashion collection’s story. Publicide Inc. has a Specialty printing department that focuses on many processes including edge gilding. Edge gilding has been the artisanal darling of the bespoke printing industry for centuries. METALLIC TOUCH

Egyptian artisans used various techniques to apply very thin coatings of gold to solid surfaces such as stone, metal, and porcelain. Some of the first mentions of gold-leafing (a more modern form of gilding) appear in Homer’s Odyssey while gold-leafing on wood is displayed on The Ram In A Thicket excavated in Ur, a Sumerian city-state of ancient Mesopotamia. Fertile indeed.

Copper and aluminum plates are used to put pressure, creating either raised or recessed relief images and designs in paper and other materials. An embossed pattern is raised against the background, while a debossed pattern is sunken into the surface of the material

Though foil stamping and various dyes and inks are frequently used in tandem with embossing and debossing, the process on its own creates a unique flair to your brand. Simple and impressive. Bold yet subtle, an embossed business card displays a refined sensibility without being overly precious.

Refined Sensibility

Crests, monograms, and addresses embossed on paper and envelopes are pounded out on ordinary letterpresses. At Publicide we most frequently use our Heidelberg Windmill Letterpress. We use metal counters, though some printers also epoxy/polymer. Publicide’s Specialty Printing department believes that the metal cuts sharper and makes a superior emboss. A “Counter” is needed for every emboss to push the paper from the opposite side.

WEDDING PRINTING LADY GAGA’S CUSTOM WEDDING INVITATIONS

Lady Gaga’s custom wedding invitations will owe greatly to her creative team at Haus of Gaga and drip with a 1980’s opulence that would set Gianni Versace’s mouthwatering.  Reigning supreme over Gaga’s visual representation including clothing set designs and props for live events, Haus of Gaga will have been waiting years to present this singularly intimate and personal suite of printed matter.
